Elton John Takes Over Selfridges Corner Shop

Selfridges has launched “Elton John at The Selfridges Corner Shop,” transforming the retail space into a reimagining of the performer’s world where customers can explore his archive and shop.

The installation will include costumes ranging from a designer Nudie Cohn rhinestone suit to Annie Reavey and Bill Whitten’s Workroom 27 outfits and framed prints of legendary shows.

With John’s “Farewell Yellow Brick Road” U.K. tour kicking off in Liverpool, England, in April, Selfridges customers can discover limited-edition fashion, accessories and lifestyle collaborations in-store and on Selfridges.com. Highlights include Elton x Selfridges tour merch, Elton John Eyewear, an exclusive MORE ELTON collection by Christopher Kane’s MORE JOY collection and a reissued polka dot suit made by Richard James.

There will also be exclusive products from KidSuper and FPM Milano, limited-edition bottles of Moet & Chandon Champagne, a candle by CENT.LON and plates by independent ceramicist, Laetitia Rouget, featuring popular song titles. Dr. Martens will also be on-site offering fans personalized versions of its 1460 Boot, inspired by John’s famous Pinball Wizard outfit.

To celebrate the Honky Chateau 50th Anniversary Edition, to be released on March 24 via UMR / EMI, Universal Music Group, The Selfridges Corner Shop will be the only in-store physical retailer stocking the limited-edition gold LP, with 100 copies signed by Elton John.

“I’m truly excited to see what the Selfridges Corner Shop experience looks like now it’s being brought to life,” says John. “We’ve been working closely with the teams at Selfridges and Bravado to create a unique experience that allows my fans to take a step into my world. I’m an avid shopper, so the bar has been set high and we’ve come up with something special that celebrates the things I love – fashion, vinyl, live music, food and some beautiful design. I hope my fans love it as much as I do.”

The Cinema at Selfridges will host screenings of “Rocket Man,” inviting customers to relax into plush velvet chairs, reminisce and celebrate the life and career of Elton John.

Elton John at The Selfridges Corner Shop was brought together in collaboration with Bravado, Universal Music Group’s brand management division. It opened at Selfridges, London, on March 20 and will run for four weeks.
